Below is a list of useful resources/services provided by Computing and Network Services when working/teaching remotely at ESF.
Remote access to on-campus storage: Access H: drive, departmental storage, research storage, and computing lab faculty drive resources: Go to HTTPS://Filecenter.esf.edu and log in with your ESFiD firstname.lastname@example.org (e.g. email@example.com).
ESF Remote Labs: Remote access to computers in the ESF Computing Center, in Baker Labs, running all the software used in ESF classes: Go to https://it.esf.edu/Access/Remote-Labs for details and instructions on connecting from off-campus to this temporary system
SU Virtual Lab: Remote access to computing resources hosted at Syracuse University, including many of the software titles used in ESF classes. Go to https://rds.syr.edu and log in with your SU NetID. Remember that the H: drive in this system is your SU H: drive and not your ESF H: drive.
ESF Virtual Desktops: Remote access to a virtual desktop on the ESF campus network for administrative use and some software access. Go to https://vss2.esf.edu and log in with your ESFiD. Choose HTML access on this server. Go to https://vss.esf.edu and log in with your ESFiD. Choose ‘Install VMware Horizon client’ and remember to use the server vss.esf.edu when asked.
ESF Google Apps and Microsoft O365: Access collaboration and communications tools (Google Meet and Microsoft Teams) for working in groups… separately. Go to http://drive.esf.edu and log in with your ESFiD username and password to access ESF’s Google Apps (Faculty and Staff). Go to https://portal.office.com and log in with your ESFiD firstname.lastname@example.org and password to access ESF’s Microsoft O365 portal (Faculty, Staff, and Students).
SU Google Apps for students: Student access to SU google Apps (including how to log in)
Go to https://answers.syr.edu/display/ITHELP/G+Suite+at+Syracuse+University for details (Students).
