Accessing eBooks: Finding and Viewing eBooks

This guide will discuss how to search for and use ebooks subscribed to by Moon Library at ESF.

How to Find eBooks

eBooks can be found by searching Primo (the main search box on the library homepage). Filter your search to Format --> books and any that appear with no call number should have a link to view online. Click on the Available Online link or the title of the book and then click on the EBSCOhost Academic eBook Collection (North America) to go to the ebook. You can also search and browse the ebook database via the link below or by finding the database in our database and resource list.

How to View and Download eBooks

eBooks can be read fully online as pdf - just click on the PDF Full Text link on the left-hand side (as shown below).

While viewing the pdf of the ebook, you save, print, email or export to Google Drive up to a select number of pages (this number may vary book by book). You can also export the citation information to a citation manager.

To fully download an ebook onto your computer or device, click on Full Download (either to the right in the PDF view or to the left in the record view). Next you will be asked to sign in to your EBSCO account. If you do not have one, you will need to create one. Follow the prompts to either log in or create an account (see below).

Once you are logged in, you can finish downloading the ebook and this will actually "borrow" it for 7 days. You can come back and download/borrow again as often as you need the book. Select either PDF or EPUB depending on which device you will be viewing it on. Then (and very importantly) you will need to install Adobe Digital Editions on your device. Click the link as shown below and follow the directions to download this application. Then you will be able to click Full Download and enjoy your ebook.
